Super Bowl

This Sunday is Super Bowl 58.  It will be held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The teams that are playing are the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers.

The game was created as part of a 1966 merger agreement between the NFL (National Football League) and the competing AFL (American Football League) to have their best teams compete for a championship.  It became the “Super Bowl” in 1969.

The first Super Bowl was won by the Green Bay Packers. But the Steeler and the Patriots have won the most Super Bowls.  Both those teams are tied with six.  The Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, and Jacksonville Jaguars have never experienced what it is like to play in the NFL’s biggest game.

Many people enjoy Super Bowl Sunday for different reasons.  Most enjoy gathering with family and friends to watch the game.  Super Bowl Sunday is the 2nd highest day of the year for most food eaten.  The first is Thanksgiving.

Some people just enjoy watching new commercials. And most of the time they have pretty good ones.  Also people really enjoy the half-time show.  This year will be Usher, 8 time grammy award winner.

Allegiant Stadium can hold 65,000 people for typical games and 72,000 for the Super Bowl.  Ticket prices are the highest yet this year.  Prices start at 5,837 and go up to 22,110.

Most will enjoy the game from home.  The most favorite foods eaten on Super Bowl Sunday are wings, nachos, pizza, and all things appetizers.

Enjoy the Super Bowl this weekend.
