Logan Lee’s NFL Combine Success

Logan Lees NFL Combine Success

The NFL Combine, as mentioned in a previous article, is a four day camp where the invited players are judged based on many factors such as speed, strength and agility. This is important to athletes because it is a chance for them to showcase their skills to scouts and executives. This year, Logan Lee, an Orion High School alumnus, made his hometown very proud with his performance in the 2024 NFL Combine.

There were 24 defensive tackles invited to the Combine. Going into the Combine, Logan was ranked 23rd out of the 24 according to the NFL’s prospect grade. There were seven events for these athletes: 40-yard dash, 10-yard split, vertical jump, broad jump, 3-cone drill, 20-yard shuttle, and the bench press. In the 40-yard dash, Logan was 11th. In the 10-yard split, he was 12th. He was 5th in the vertical jump, 5th in the broad jump, and 8th in the bench press. Logan did very well in the 3-cone drill and 20-yard shuttle, placing 1st in both. His times in these events are the 6th and 7th best times, respectively, out of all defensive tackles since 2010, and his performance hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Eric Galko, the director of football operations for the Shrine Bowl, tweeted, “Logan Lee crushed today at the #NFLCombine…Explosive, Agile and it matches on film.” Anyone watching would agree that Logan “crushed” as his Relative Athletic Score (RAS), used to measure and compare athleticism amongst players, ranked him 5th out of all defensive tackles at the Combine. Pro Football Focus, a sports analytics company owned by broadcaster Cris Collinsworth, currently has Logan ranked as the 137th prospect in the upcoming NFL Draft.

We will have to wait until the last weekend in April to ultimately find out what happens.
