Orion’s Logan Lee Invited to NFL Combine

Orions Logan Lee Invited to NFL Combine

The NFL Scouting Combine, also known as the National Invitational Camp (NIC), is a camp that only around 300 college stand-out football players get invited to every year in Indianapolis. This is a four day camp where the chosen players are judged based on many factors such as speed, strength and agility.  The Combine is a big deal because the players invited to attend are usually those who are going to be drafted in the up-coming NFL draft.

Logan Lee has been a big deal around Orion for a while, now, since he is one of the most outstanding athletes that we have ever had at our school. Lee graduated in the class of 2019 and was involved in many other school activities besides football including wrestling (where he was a two-time state champ), FCA, the school choir, and track and field (where he made it to state, placing second in shot put).

After graduating from Orion High School, Lee attended the University of Iowa where he played on their successful football team as a defensive lineman. He was a 2023 honorable mention for the All-Big Ten team. This past 2023 season, he started all thirteen of their games.

Lee was invited to the Combine after a strong performance in the East-West Shrine game. The East-West Shrine Bowl is where the nation’s best senior football players team up East vs West. After this game, many people were writing very positive things about Logan Lee and the upcoming draft, such as the Iowa Hawkeyes’ head football coach, Kirk Ferentz, who says Logan, “[j]ust came with an unusual maturity, and he’s been a good guy that way.” Ferentz also describes him as “[a]lways ha[ving] a great attitude, and it continues to grow.”

OHS is looking forward to seeing how far Logan will go in this football journey. The village of Orion and surrounding communities are rooting for Logan Lee in the 2024 NFL draft.
