Last Monday, on a chilly afternoon, I took a trip to Rock Island in order to get the amazing fries and burger that I had heard so much about. Unfortunately, the reviews I had previously heard had given me some expectations that were not nearly met. To get the full experience, I got out of my car and went to the window; since you are not able to go inside. Later I realized that this was an awful decision. With the temperature being a solid 40 degrees fahrenheit, I stood outside and waited for my burger and fries. After speaking to the lady at the window and receiving terrible, rude service, 10 minutes later I received my burger and fries. The two things I had been overjoyed with getting came to a dissapointment. The fries were a mix of spicy with too much sugar thrown on them. They were overcooked and some were completely burnt to a crisp. After being disappointed with the fries I moved to the sandwich. Now with the fact my meal was cheaper than dirt in mind, I took my first bite and was more impressed with this than the fries. The sandwich was not amazing either though. It seemed as if they threw old lettuce and frozen cheese onto the meat. Overall, I do not recommend Checkers to anyone even if you are completely starving.
