Jordan Neely, 30, was a homeless man living in New York City. On May 1st, he boarded the subway in Manhattan and according to other passengers, he was yelling “in an aggressive manner” saying “I don’t have food, I don’t have a drink, I’m fed up. I don’t mind going to jail and getting life in prison. I’m ready to die.” After this occurred, some of theĀ  passengers on the subway tried to restrain him. There was a video taken by a passenger on the train showing another passenger holding Neely in a headlock for about 15 minutes and two other passengers holding down his arms and shoulders while other passengers just stood and watched as Neely lost consciousness. Later, he was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead. The man who killed Jordan Neely was identified as, 24 year old, Daniel Penny who was a Marine veteran. After Neely’s death, Penny was taken into custody but was released with zero charges.
