Home Alone Sequels Need to STOP

Home Alone Sequels Need to STOP

Mason Teemant, Writer

Believe it or not, there are five sequels to the original 1990 movie Home Alone. The first two movies are very good, and I enjoy watching them around the holidays. It’s what comes after that bothers me. The third movie of Home Alone has a kid that is home alone for a day, and the house gets robbed. Similar plot line to the originals. The names of the kids are different from the kids in the first two movies, and they did a mediocre job. The acting is what you expect out of an amateur child actor. The fourth movie is the worst out of all of these for many reasons. The acting is terrible, both adults and children alike. The producers and screenwriters thought it was a good idea to make it have the same characters as the first two. This is quite angering because after ten years since the second home alone was released, they make one with different actors playing the same characters. The plot is that Kevin’s parents got divorced and his dad moved in with a rich woman shortly after the divorce. Kevin goes to his dad’s new house for Christmas and gets robbed by one of the robbers from the original movies. The robber is not even played by the same actor. The other two Home alone movies in the series are unrelated but are not good. This franchise needs to be stopped. This is a miserable string of movies that has been going on for over thirty years, and now it is time to stop.
