The sound of squeaky shoes and dribbling of basketballs is back in the gym. Girls Varsity kicks off their season with their first game in just a week, playing West Central, November 15th in the Ridgewood Turkey Tournament. Boys begin practice this Monday and compete at our home tournament starting on the 22nd of November.

I briefly spoke with Varsity seniors Courtney Farwell and Thea Brown, getting an insight on their upcoming season.

“A team goal for this season is to improve on the defensive end. We can’t win games if we don’t have a defense. We have already made loads of improvement [at open gyms and the first week of practice]. If everyone continues to work hard and give their all, it is going to be a great season” – Courtney Farwell

“Our season is going to be great! We have 20 girls this year and are all getting along very well. We are working very hard, putting in so much effort during practice. I can’t wait to see it all pay off!” – Thea Brown

Senior captain of Boys Basketball, Chance Stropes, shares his excitement for the season, saying, “The open gyms have been a lot of fun and really competitive. I am looking forward to playing with a lot of energy and winning games.”
