Spring break is less than a week away! Thankfully, the weather should be in the 50’s and there will be plenty of sunshine. If you’re going on vacation you’ll more than likely be soaking up the sun and shaking off these cold temperatures. For those of you traveling this spring break here are six great ways not to break your wallets and to save money.

  • Plan out the trip now. Preparing now could save money on gas and activity costs. Also, this way you’ll be able to look forward to the activities.

  • Plan out a budget and try to stick to it. Make this budget realistic and easy to stick to.

  • Bring your own snacks and a water bottle with you. These are little expenses that can add up quickly, especially at the airport.

  • Travel on airlines at the right time. Most airlines costs are higher on the weekends. Opt to travel midweek if you can along with undesired flight times such as early or late flights to get the cheapest tickets.

  • Look for free or discounted activities. Free is the best it can get. Look into going to a park or do your research on events and discounts that are happening.

  • Don’t buy expensive souvenirs. Do not impulsive buy something that you will never use. Always remember, you can probably find it cheaper online anyway.

  • Try something new. There’s nothing better than coming back from a trip with a bunch of experiences or memories that you will remember forever. These memories are something that you can not put a price on, enjoy.
