After having Moline down two goals at halftime last week and only losing to the Maroons by one goal, Orion-Sherrard United knew East Moline would be a challenge in the week to come. On Monday, OSU not only tailed another win to their record but made history. This is the program’s first ever win over East Moline. At the time, East Moline had a Big Western 6 conference record of 5-0. Sophomore Jamie Abbott commented,” Going into the game, the team as a whole felt confident that we could stay with them”. United stayed confident and good things followed. Freshman Lily Moen scored the game winner with a game changing assist from Karsyn McCunn. Orion-Sherrard’s defense played a key role in the 2nd half to maintain the one goal advantage. Goalkeeper Mary Mount tailed 18 saves to end the night. This boosts OSU’s record to 19-3.
