4 Week Stretch

Katie Noyd, Writer

This is always the worst time of year, that four week stretch before we get a nice break. It’s the time in between MLK Jr. Day and President’s Day, and we think we are just about to run out of gas and quit. In order to keep you going and give you just a sprinkle of motivation, I sat down with one of our english teachers, Mr. Lister, to see what he does and how he handles the long stretch.

Me- “How do you make it through the long stretch?”

Mr. Lister- “Oh gosh, you are telling me there is 4 weeks of straight school? Well I take breaks to play some video games and watch plenty of netflix.”

Me- “What are some things that you look forward to during the long stretch to keep you going?”

Mr. Lister- “I love watching the Poetry Out Loud section and after a long day at school I enjoy going home and cuddling with my dog! I am also so excited for the new ESports season where we compete against other schools, even though it means a lot of late nights and full weekends.”

Me- “As time goes on, are you one of the teachers that gets so mad at the world you pile on homework, or do you just start letting up?”

Mr. Lister- “I am more likely to let up for both the students and myself. I tend to be more project based as time goes on.”
