This upcoming weekend (October 27, 28, 29) is the last weekend to go haunted housing in our area! Here are some local haunted houses you don’t want to miss!

Shock House– Rock Island, IL. The haunted house is held inside the QCCA Expo Center. The haunted house itself was more creepy than scary. Instead of a lot of people jumping out at you, there was a lot of scenes where people played roles of creepy characters.  I would recommend getting the fast pass, unless you like to stand in line for two hours. The Haunted House was really good, creepy images will be in your head for a while, although it wasn’t worth the price. It takes about 15 minutes to get through the whole thing. General Admission is $15 and the fast pass is $20.

Shadows Realm– Galesburg, IL. The 30 minute drive is worth this haunted house! The building was actually an old World War II hospital, then later in the 1900s it was an insane asylum, which of course adds to the creepiness of it. Open only October 26 and 27 from 7-11 pm. General admission is only $10, yet again I recommend the fast pass which is only an extra $5. The line took about an hour on a Saturday night. You’re greeted by a small clown girl who has a very sassy attitude. While you’re waiting in line, another clown, who’s secretly cool and hit the dab for us, comes around trying to scare you.

Torment at Twelve Hundred– Orion, IL. Despite the recent attack by a customer at Torment, it’s a very safe and fun haunted house. It’s rated as the top Illinois haunted attraction in 2016. Located only fourteen miles southeast of Orion, it’s a great local haunted house for those who don’t want to drive into the cities. Tickets are a little pricey, general admission is $18 per person, but I thought it was worth the price. It takes about 45 minutes to get through the whole haunted house. The path you take goes inside and outside, so make sure to be prepared for the weather!
