Line of Succession After the Queen’s Death

Unfortunately, on September 8th, 2022 Queen Elizabeth passed away. The Queen graciously served her country for 7o years, just 151 days shy of 71 years. So now what happens? As of 2013, the throne goes to the first born, no matter if they are male or female. Queen Elizabeth’s first born son, Prince Charles immediately took over the throne, becoming the King. Now that King Charles III is head of the state in the UK, he also took power in fourteen Commonwealth realms. He is now the Supreme Governor of the Church of England and head of the British Armed Forces. When King Charles passes away the throne will go to his first born, Prince William. When Prince William passes away it will go to his first born, Prince George. Now, lets say Prince William dies young while his son is just nine years old. Prince George would still become a symbolic King at nine years old, however Prince Harry would step in as prince regent (until George is 18) to make decisions because he is the closest person in the bloodline that is over eighteen years old. If Prince George were to pass away, Prince Harry still does not get the reign. Williams other two kids, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have seniority over Harry, with Charlotte being first in line after George. The only way Prince Harry could become King is if Prince William and all three of his kids were to pass away.  If it did get to the point where Prince Harry became King and he passed away then it would go to his kids. And because Harry’s kids, Archie and Lilibet, do not have any kids as of right now, if they were to pass away it would go back up to Queen Elizabeth’s second born son, Prince Andrews. However, if Archie, being the oldest of Harry’s children, passed away and had kids then the reign would go to them. While this is a confusing system, in the most simplest terms: Whoever has the throne, their first born gets the throne.
