We are only a month into 2022 and with a new year comes new trends. There are new beauty trends that various companies and influencers have predicted for this year, and today we will take a look  at a few of these predictions.

Lip Blushing

Tattooing of the lips has recently hit big, and for those of you who don’t know, a tattoo artist will “blush” the lips with a neutral/bold/vibrant tone of your choice to leave your lips with a semi-permanent color.

Blotted or “ombre” lips

This Korean Beauty trend is thought to come to the US. Red lipstick is blotted on the center of the lips and “rubbed out” with a finger or brush to make an ombre lip. Many people also layer over this look with lip gloss.

Lip Filler

Many people who have previously gotten lip filler ever since the trend started up in 2016 have made the decision to get it chemically resolved, leaving their lips natural. This is set to be a new trend this year – completely natural lips.

Layers and Wispy Bangs

Many hairstylists from all over the country are saying that our hair will have “lots of layers” and that “wispy bangs” will be a big hit. 2022 will be a year for hair with lots of movement, and a multitude of styles to choose from.

Hair Tinsel

Another trend from previous years, hair tinsel will make its debut in 2022 with all kinds of lengths, colors, and styles.

Dramatic Haircuts

Mullets, mohawks, and buzz cuts are thought to hit it big this year. Fun colors dyed in hair, such as neons, pastels, and patterns, are also predicted.

Colored Eyeliner

Colored eyeliner, although it is just on the brink of becoming a trend, will make its way to the top with bold colors and black eyeliner becoming seen less and less.

Puppy Dog Eyeliner/ Twiggy Liner

Downturned/puppy dog eyeliner will become more and more popular, becoming a substitute for cat and fox eyes. Twiggy eyeliner inspired by Twiggy from the 60s is also predicted to be popular.

Bejeweled Looks

First up is bejeweled looks. Whether its eye makeup, nails, and even tooth jewels, 2022’s beauty will be all decked out with glitter and rhinestones. This “new” makeup trend was inspired by the recent show “Euphoria,” where the characters are consistently seen wearing both.

Body Glitter

It has been predicted that the classic 2000s trend (and others) will come back in the next year. Various body glitters will come back in style, however primarily focused on the collar bone and neck area.

Feathered-Soap Brows

Feathery brows and soap brows have come together recently to for a type of “feathery soap-brow,” in which your brows are brushed upward with the help of dry soap, however not as dramatic as the most recent feather-brow trend. It is also said that there will be less and less product used on our brows, leaving us with a natural brow.

“Clean” Makeup Looks

“Clean” or minimalist makeup looks in which skin tint takes foundations place, light-coverage concealer dewy skin and extremely natural eyes are a priority is predicted to be seen more in the next year.

Green

Green is said to be the “color of the year” in 2022, with sage being a prominent shade. Eyeliner, eyeshadow, clothes etc. will all be used majorly within the next year.

Skin Care

Skin care is something more and more beauty companies are focusing on, and it is said that many companies will be releasing new skincare lines in 2022. Not just for one type of skin, however, many of these companies plan to release large skincare lines containing options for all skin types.

In total 2022 is predicted to be a natural and self loving year, but still showing its “wildside” through hair and vibrant colors.
