Christmas around the World

Christmas around the World

Christmas around the world!

It is finally the merriest time of year! As a firm believer in celebrating Thanksgiving first, the Christmas music is now in full effect. While in the US we celebrate with pretty trees and lights, in Europe they celebrate with seafood!

Seafood is not the first thing that comes to mind when I think about the holiday season. They are similar in the sense that they also decorate a tree! Through a quick google search I learned that the best places to celebrate Christmas in Europe are Prague, Switzerland, and France! These places are known for their displays of lights through the cities.

While these cities may have beautiful light shows, there are others that have been named the ¨most Christmasy places¨ in the word! Places like Montreal,Canada and Lapland, Finland are notorious for their level of merry.

With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, most countries will be super hard to get into this holiday season. A fun way to celebrate this national holiday would be to ask family where your family is from and celebrate a tradition that your ancestors may have celebrated! My family goes back to our Swedish roots and we hide a pickle ortantment in our tree. The first one to find it gets year long bragging rights. 🙂
