We oftentimes wonder why certain things are happening in our bodies: weight gain, acne, and headaches. This could be for a number of reasons, but one that most tend to overlook is a lack of sleep. Many students, and even adults, often times take sleep for granted and end up regretting it the next morning. As students, we tend to procrastinate and stay up late cramming for tests or finishing homework and projects. This seems to be one of the sections that is overlooked in many classes, so you may ask, what can a lack of sleep do to my body? A lack of sleep is one of the leading reasons behind obesity and can cause an incredible amount of weight gain due  to emotional stress. Have you ever wondered why even though you studied all night you still couldn’t remember any of it for the next day test, this is because when you suffer from lack of sleep your ability to retain information and memorize things is negatively affected. There are various other effects of sleep such as weakened immunity, mood changes, high blood pressure, and trouble concentrating. Hopefully, through this article, you can see why our bodies have such a strong internal drive to get sleep every night.
