Confidential Documents Leaked from the Pentagon

There have been 53 documents leaked from the Pentagon, some include information about the war in Ukraine. The Defense Department doesn’t know how these documents got leaked, but they are making confidential documents much harder to get to because documents are normally available to hundreds of government employees a day. Due to the contents of the documents, the government fears they could ruin their foreign relationships. The House and Senate Intelligence Committee are demanding answers from the Biden administration because there is no excuse for these documents to be leaked. When these documents were leaked, they appeared on Discord. The photos had the documents laid on magazines and there was a Ziploc bag containing Gorilla Glue on top of the documents. The documents were most likely sneakily folded and put into a pocket to remove them from the secure location. US officials say the documents are authentic, and some of them expose eavesdropping on allies like South Korea, Israel, and Ukraine. Some reveal how the US penetrated the Russian Ministry of Defense. Another document reveals the US has been spying on the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky. Someone who is close to Zelensky says that this is unsurprising news, however it is still very frustrating. One document describes in great detail a conversation between two senior South Korean national security officials about National Security concerns because the US is requesting ammunition. Many US allies are upset about the information that was leaked and they say that this really tarnishes the US’s reputation. While it is unclear where these leaks originated, the documents are the highest level of classification.
