Prom Trends 2023

Karly Wampler, Writer

April started Saturday, which means that prom is only days away. Every prom has different trends which make them unique. This year has many different trends from dresses to pictures.

One trend that varies from year to year is colors. The main colors of dresses trend differently from year to year, and this year has a big variety of colors. Most are bright colors like yellow, neon pink, fuschia, orange, Barbie pink, and lime. If you don’t want to have a bright color, other colors that are trending this season are periwinkle, lilac, peacock light blue, wine, slate blue, and gold.

Dresses this year range from sparkly to floral. The trends this year make it easy for everyone to find a style they like. Most dresses this year are fit and flares, have glitter, or iridescent fabric, sequins, corsets, lace, cut-outs, and flowers. Some dresses may only have one style, but it is most common this year to have a dress with a combination of some of these styles.

Shoes don’t really vary from year to year, but there are some variations from year to year. This year heels, sandals, and sneakers are trending. Heels with sequins are very popular, and most colors are silver, black, beige, and fuschia. Sandals also have sequins, but the most popular colors are black, beige, and silver. Sneakers that have sequins are very popular this year, but the colors are either black or silver.

Makeup has some interesting trends this year for prom. Having your face look glossy is a really big trend this year. Smokey eyelids and bright color eyelids are also trending this year.

Hair has some classic trends this year. Half up half down hair is big this year, along with braids, curls, and buns. Putting pearls and pins/clips in your hairdo is a big trend this year, which makes some really cute hairstyles. Nail trends are ombres, glitter, matte, bubbles, and confetti.

Lastly, picture poses that are trending are holding balloons, blowing glitter, jumping, showing off your ride, twirling, and over-the-shoulder. These poses make for some unique, fun, and cool pictures.
