Hurricane Ian

Florida is facing a great deal of destruction. Florida’s category 4 hurricane so far has lost the lives of 106 people(and counting) , at least 40,600 people are without homes, and 1.05 million people are without power. The top wind speed has been up to 155mph and there is 12 feet of flooding depth. So many homes and lives have been ruined.  Rescuers have rescued over 1,100 lives so far. Hurricane Ian is tied for the fifth strongest hurricane in the U.S causing the most destruction among the world record. Causing the most damage of $60 billion and more. The most rainfall was measuring 21.16in tall.

This is especially tragic for Florida but Illinois will start seeing the flooded damaged cars in used car markets. They are trying to sell the water damaged cars so if you plan to buy a new car soon make sure you know all of the history on this car. “Flooded cars are often shipped to places hundreds of miles from areas hit by storms and may be dangerous to drive or pose health risks,” Raoul said in a statement. “The current tight market for used cars can make buyers more likely to rush into a sale, but I urge consumers to investigate the condition of any vehicles they are considering purchasing.” He also stated there are going to be a lot more scam artists. Scam artists will put the vehicle through a thorough cleaning process that can make it difficult to tell if a car has been damaged by water. Raoul also said a title should reflect whether a vehicle that has sustained flood damage or has been salvaged, but scam artists will return flooded vehicles to the market by “washing” their titles, which conceals a flood or salvage vehicle’s history of damage by moving the vehicle and title through several states.
