Adding to one of my prior posts focusing on the same subject, I’ve decided to write my last story for the year on a requested recipe from Beauty and the Beast! Remember hearing Lumiére tell Belle; “Try the grey stuff, it’s delicious!”? The proper name for the “grey stuff” is Grey Stuff Gateau. And after making this you’ll be able to say for yourself how delicious it really is! Let’s get started.

  • Shortbread or sugar cookies
  • Red velvet cake mix
  • Buttercream frosting (store-bought or homemade)
  • Seedless red raspberry jam
  • Oreo cookies (about 8)
  • Sprinkles (optional)

  1. Bake red velvet cupcakes in a cupcake tin according to package instructions, and set aside to cool.
  2. Prepare buttercream frosting.
  3. Place Oreo cookies in a food processor until finely ground.
  4. Mix the Oreo crumbs into the buttercream frosting until completely mixed in.
  5. Place raspberry jam in a frosting bag with the end trimmed off.
  6. Add a dab of jam (or however much you want) to the center of your sugar cookie or shortbread.
  7. Place the cupcake on the cookie and make sure it sticks to the jam.
  8. Top the cookie with another dab of raspberry jam.
  9. Place your Oreo frosting into a piping bag and swirl over the cupcake in a cone shape.
  10. Add sprinkles or Oreo crumbs if desired.
