This week, what burns my bacon are the vegan protests that happened in Australia earlier this week. Now it’s not the stance of veganism that burns my bacon, it’s how they tried getting their point across to other people. Early Sunday morning, a very large sum of people gathered on of the busiest intersections in Australia. Then, 7 other smaller intersections were cut off by the protesters as well. On top of that, another small group of people went to a meat plant at 2:30 in the morning. They chained themselves to the machinery, making it impossible for workers to do their job at the plant. Not long after being chained, they were removed and arrested. The way the protesters were demonstrating their anger, was in my opinion, possibly the worst way to get their point across. Stopping people getting to work on a Monday morning (it was monday in Australia at the time and Sunday here) is a bad way to make a point. I believe people would be really angry and ignore what you are trying to say. Stopping traffic to stop animal violence isn’t the best. Having a normal protest on the side of the street, or in front of a government building would be better than in the middle of the road. Don’t affect the lives of people who have nothing to do with the situation, and making them late.
