Orion-Sherrard United Kicks Off The Season

This fall, Orion-Sherrard’s roster has a whole new look. Losing 12 seniors last fall has left big shoes to fill for the program. Boys varsity started the season off with a 3-0 win against Depue at Sherrard High School. Last weekend the boys traveled to Oregon, IL for the Oregon Hawk Tournament. The program returned with a record of 3-2-1. Yesterday, the boys battled against the Kewanee Steamers. The game consisted of 4 yellow cards and the boys sadly lost 1-2 . Brother goalkeeper duo have held a great season for the varsity squad. Sophomore goalkeeper, Caleb Spranger, has 30 saves tallied to start the season. While his younger freshman brother, Josh Spranger has tallied 19 saves. Top varsity scorers have been Arden Clauss, Drew Minas, and Noah Secor.

Orion-Sherrard jv hit a rough patch at the beginning of the season, making their record 0-1-1. JV’s hard fought game ended in a tie yesterday in Kewanee.
