For those of you concerned about the direction humanity is heading, rest assured that there are still people like Tanner Wilson in the world. Tanner’s best friend, Brandon Qualls, has been held back by the limits of a wheelchair for years, but Tanner decided he’d like to do something about this.

As you can imagine, getting around the hallways in a wheelchair would be difficult, seeing that it already is just walking down them. Brandon said, “My arms would get really tired.” Seeing his friends frustration, Tanner got a job as mechanic for two years, saved up his money, and bought Brandon a motorized wheelchair.

To some this gesture might not seem like a huge deal, but to Brandon, it meant the world. High school provides us with so many different meaningless ways to spend our money, and Tanner was conscious of that, but he chose to save his money up anyway to help out his friend. After being given the wheelchair in front of the class, Brandon said, “I was just crying everywhere. I was like, ‘Wow, I can’t believe he did that for me.'”

The next time someone asks a simple favor of you, remember the lengths this kid went to for his best friend. If you want to read more about their story and hear what others are saying about it, check out CNN.
