The Forever Winter

Image result for icy roadsMidwest winters are almost always guaranteed to be long, cold, and full of surprises. To add on to the coldest temperatures that we’ve ever had in the Quad Cities and an unbelievable amount of snow, this Tuesday’s ice storm was the first one in 10 years in our area. When the ice storm started, the temperature was in the 20’s and was perfect for freezing rain. The expected amount of ice was a quarter inch. The ice came down like sleet and left a white cover on the ground that looked just like snow. Several flights were cancelled and schools were let out early or cancelled as well. All weather companies and schools advised people to stay home and off the roads. This terrible weather has made for lots and lots of lazy days at home.
