I will list the top 5 missed field goals of 2018, 5 being the least impactful to 1 being the most.

5. Cody Parky’s missed field goal against the Denver Broncos.

The Bears would ultimately defeat the Broncos. But with Parky’s missed field goal, the Broncos had a chance to drive down the field and win.

4. Steven Hauschka’s missed field goal against the Cleveland Browns.

This close range field goal would end up not being so simple for the long time Bill’s veteran kicker. Hauschka would miss this field goal but would not end up costing his team the win.

3.  Zane Gonzalez’s missed field goal against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

This kick to begin the Brown’s season would set the trend for the rest of the NFL. Gonzalez missed this game winning field goal that would have greatly helped their playoff chances at the end of the season. Instead, they are now watching from the sidelines.

To kick off the bad luck for the Steelers this season, Boswell would miss a game winning field goal against the presumed weakest team in the AFC North. This missed field goal would eventually cause the Steelers to lose their playoff hopes at the end of the season.

Some kickers just have the wrong kind of luck. Cody Parky nailed the an important field goal before the timeout, but his second attempt did not go so well. He would go on to hit two of the bars and miss the season ending field goal.
