Popular in many festivals and clubs across the world, EDM or electronic dance music, is one of the fastest growing genres of music today. The thing that is so great about EDM is that there are so many sub genres of the main genre. A popular, if not the most popular sub genre of EDM is called House. House music is short for “WhereHouse Music.” This is because this genre of EDM was invented in the 1980’s after the fall of disco music in underground clubs in Chicago.

House music has had many great producers and artists throughout it’s time. Some of these greats include the late producer DJ Frankie Knuckles, who most see as the Godfather of House Music, Steve Hurley, and Mr. Fingers. Some artists have also been featured such as Janet Jackson and Madonna in the late 80s and 90s of House music.

In 2010, there was an explosion of House music into the mainstream music world. Artists such as Calvin Harris, The Chainsmokers, Martin Garrix, and Marshmello are making big names for themselves with their dance hits.

Now that you know a bit about house music and some of the artists, I have put some of my favorite songs at the moment for you to listen to!

How Deep Is Your Love by Calvin Harris –
