As we begin to approach the fall/winter season changes, we all need to be prepared for all the colds that are going to be spreading around. There are a lot of precautions that can be taken to prevent yourself from getting sick, such as…

  • Wash your hands. We have all been told this from a very young age, but it can be especially important this time of year. After a long day of being around people, wash your hands. After you go to the bathroom, sneeze, or cough, make sure that you take the time to wash your hands because you are not only helping prevent yourself from getting sick, but you are helping the other people around you as well.
  • Don’t share water bottles or food. When we are around our close friends, we are fine with sharing food and drinks because we are close enough for that. However, this time of year, we need to be more cautious, no matter how close you may be with that person. They can still pass you their cold when sharing food/drinks.
  • Get enough sleep. Sleep is very important in everyday life but, it becomes more important this time of year because a lack of sleep causes you to be more vulnerable to sickness. When trying to prevent yourself from getting sick, you need to make sure you are getting enough sleep. This can also be helpful if you feel yourself starting to get sick because you can attack the cold before it gets too serious.

If everyone in the school works together to prevent the sicknesses from spreading this season, we can prevent the serious flu from going around and hopefully keep the school healthy.
