A Day in the Life of a Mom

Katie Noyd, Journalist

We’re back with your weekly “A Day in the Life of a Mom/Dad”! This week instead of doing the regular “A Day in the Life of a Dad” we have switched it up and added in the backbone to so many families and interviewed a popular mom! This week’s mom is the one and only Mrs.Kershaw! Mrs.Kershaw is the momma to three little girls; Eva, who is eight, Izzy, who is five, and Harper who is two. A day in the life of Mrs.Kershaw is by no means calm. It is full of the fun chaos of toddlers and being a full time teacher! At around 5-6 a.m. she is woken up by her toddler and she has a quick fifteen minutes to get completely ready for her own day. Then, she wakes her kids up and begins to make their breakfast and lunches for the day. She has to be to school by 7:20 and get ready for a day filled with more kids! Her work day ends at 3:15 when she has a 90 sec. window to get ready, get to her babysitters, and pick up her kids. She then proceeds to pick up her kids from the bus at approximately 3:53 p.m. As soon as everyone is settled in she begins to make snacks, while unpacking lunches, AND begins the process of making dinner. She proceeds to be interrupted about 5-10 times before dinner and morning dishes are officially done. After dinner she has a 30 min window where she is able to carry on the extra daily tasks at hand until the dreaded bath time begins. She and her husband Travis tag team three solid rounds of bath time. Then finally at around 8:00 she is able to exist as a regular human being. Her favorite thing about being a mom is watching her kids personalities grow and make them who they truly are.
