Feeling Tired?

After all of those long summer nights, the last two weeks of early mornings have been rough. We’re starting to get a hang of this new school routine, but most of us still feel super tired all the time. Here are some tips and tricks for getting to bed and getting a good night’s sleep.

1.Reduce blue light exposure at night.

Blue light is emitted in large amounts from electronic devices like smartphones and computers. Turn on night mode late at night.

2. Don’t consume caffeine late in the day.

3. Reduce irregular or long day naps.

4. Optimize your bedroom environment.

This can include aspects such as temperature, noise, furniture choice and arrangement, external lights and more.

5. Don’t eat late in the evening.

6. Relax and clean your mind.

I know this is easier said than done during school, but make sure you have time for yourself.

7. Exercise during the day.

8. Take a 20 minute break when you get home then do your homework.

9. Priortize the important tasks first.

No, your favorite netflix show is not a priority.

10. Be prepared.

Pack the day before or make a mental checklist so you have a few extra minutes in the morning.
