Spring sports are off to a wintery start as snow blew in Monday and Tuesday morning this week. The boys baseball team was scheduled to play their first home game of the season against ridgewood Tuesday, with varsity at 4:30 and the junior varsity at 6:30, but sadly this event was cancelled due to cold temperatures and snowy weather. They have another game scheduled for Thursday at Geneseo High School and the event may be cancelled depending on how the weather changes throughout the week. The softball team was also supposed to play their first game of the season Tuesday afternoon in Galesburg, with varsity at 4:30 and the junior varsity at 6:00, but these games were also cancelled due to inclement weather in Galesburg too. There was also a softball game scheduled for tonight at United High School but this was also cancelled due to weather. Another home game is scheduled for Thursday against Geneseo and the it is very likely that it will be cancelled if the weather does not improve. Girls soccer is scheduled to play their first game of the season, away at Alleman at 4:30. All conference games cancelled due to weather will be rescheduled for later dates but non-conference games will be left unplayed. Track is the only sport able to participate in their events this week as they are still in indoor season. Track and Field had a meet at Monmouth College Tuesday.
