Halloween is the spookiest time of the year, but it also has the cutest and best movies.

Ghostbusters (1984)– After the members of a team of scientists lose their positions at a university in New York City, they decide to become “ghostbusters” to wage a high-tech battle with the supernatural for money. They stumble upon a gateway to another dimension, a doorway that will release evil upon the city. The Ghostbusters must now save New York.

Hocus Pocus (1993)– After moving to Salem, Mass., teenager Max Dennison explores an abandoned house with his sister Dani and their friend, Alison. Max accidentally frees a coven of evil witches who used to live in the house. The kids must steal the witches’ book of spells to stop them from becoming immortal.

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)– Jack Skellington, Halloweentown’s beloved pumpkin king, has become bored with the same annual routine of frightening people in the “real world.” Jack accidentally stumbles on Christmastown and inspires him to bring Christmas to Halloweentown by kidnapping Santa Claus and taking over the role.

[Any] Halloweentown (1998)– In the first Halloweentown, after learning she is a witch, a girl helps save a town full of other supernatural creatures. Halloweentown 2 – Two witches try to stop a villain who wants to permanently transform trick-or-treaters into their costume characters.

It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown (1966)– Sally is torn between going trick-or-treating for the first time and attending Violet’s Halloween party or following her love Linus and waiting for the Great Pumpkin’s arrival with him. The Peanuts gang celebrates Halloween while Linus waits for the Great Pumpkin.

Casper (1995) – Casper is a kind, young ghost who peacefully haunts a mansion in Maine. When specialist James Harvey arrives to communicate with Casper and his fellow spirits, he brings along his teenage daughter, Kat. Casper quickly falls in love with Kat, but their relationship is complicated not due to the fact Casper is a ghost, but by his trouble-making uncles and their mischievous antics.

[Any] Hotel Transylvania (2012)– When monsters want to get away from the real world, they go to Count Dracula’s Hotel Transylvania. On one special weekend, Dracula invites creatures to celebrate the 118th birthday of his daughter, Mavis. However, an unforeseen complication unfolds when an ordinary human unwittingly crashes the party and falls in love with Mavis. Hotel Transylvania 2 – Mavis and the human get married, despite Count Dracula’s demand, and have a baby. Count Dracula is worried the child won’t become a vampire. It is Dracula’s mission to scare and revive the monster in his grandson.
