In New York, 5 teens and 1 adult were arrested on Monday Feb 20th. They were arrested for damaging other people’s fences for a Tiktok called the Kool-Aid-Man Tiktok. According to Fox news, “the Suffolk County Police said a homeowner in Centereach, New York heard “loud noises” around 1 a.m. on Monday”. They pulled up security camera footage and caught the 6 males (ages 12-18) kicking in several parts of the fence.  Around 4am the camera shows them leaving and running through the fence all at the same time. They males were arrested  on Hammond Road around 4:15 in a black Hyundai Sedan which was caught near the scene. Later the officers found out that the males were also damaged a few more fences in other parts of Suffolk County. According to Fox news, “The five juveniles and one 18-year-old were charged with several counts of third-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree criminal mischief.” They were all released on Family Court Field Appearance Tickets but have show up to court on March 6th in Central Islip.

I just want to add that Tiktok is not the reason for teenage foolishness. Tiktok can not make any person do the actions that they decide to do. Tiktok show a variety of different things, whatever you’re into but so does your Tv. If we didn’t have Tiktok, others would blame snapchat or facebook or twitter or instagram, in general Social media. But if we didn’t have facebook then Tv’s would be the problem and if we didn’t have that then school would be the problem. The real problem is the child’s mind it is not the internet or whatever others want to blame. People never blame the child, it’s always social media or even the parents. They need to take responsibility for their own actions.
