Christmas Songs are Terrible

Hailey Schoutteet, Writer

I may just be being a Grinch here but Christmas songs are absolutely terrible. They are always played before Thanksgiving even ends, they are always played on repeat, and they just aren’t even catchy.

Here are a few of the worst ones yet:

I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus. This song is just very weird and if you look at the lyrics it’s very messed up. I mean the mom is having an affair with Santa for crying out loud.

Little Drummer Boy. I especially hate this song no one wants to hear Pa-rum-pum-pum-pum over and over while they are walking in Walmart.

Jingle Bells. This song is way over played you will always hear it at a kids Christmas concert and there is no escape from it.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town. Nobody’s going to watch out or cry when “Santa” comes to town they don’t care they just want to see their presents in the morning.

The Chipmunk Song. God this song is very annoying it’s not even catchy, the chipmunks sound absolutely terrible and it’s ear retching.

Grandma Got Ran Over By A Reindeer. Grandma never got ran over by a reindeer because why would grandma want to be outside in the cold she would want to be in the house asleep in a comfy chair.

Last Christmas. This song is actually truly sad, you give someone your heart and they give it away? Wow that’s very sad. But this song is played as a funny happy sounding song, no it’s depressing.

It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas. Snow? That’s what defines Christmas. Snow and decorations are all that this song talks about there is nothing good about this song.

Do You Hear What I Hear?  This song just talks about a lamb and a shepherd boy and you wouldn’t realize that because the only part of the song people pay attention to is Do you hear what I hear, and Do you see what I see. Nothing catchy about that.

We Wish You a Merry Christmas. This song is just overall terrible and needs to not be played over and over while I’m on my way to school or work. GOD it’s so annoying.
