The Humane Society of Scott County is a local Quad City animal shelter facility located in Davenport, Iowa. They have announced on their facebook page with a visual that they are at crisis capacity as of Sunday, 4/24. The visual I have inserted below illustrates the currently occupied dog kennels. In the visual there are 98 dogs at their shelter. The dogs range from large to small. The shelter is at the point that they have installed the overflow kennels that are in place when the shelter does not have enough room for the dogs. Overflow kennels are the pop-up wired kennels. Since announcing the crisis, Kings Harvest Pet Rescue and QCAWC, two other local shelters in the area have helped the HSSC and picked up dogs from them to take to their shelters and find adopters for them. This then helps the HSSC to have the room for the dogs they have at their shelter and can hopefully eliminate the usage of the overflow pop-up wired kennels.

Since the shelter has an overflow of dogs, they are opening their doors to a foster to adopt program. The foster to adopt program is as exactly as it sounds: a program that allows you to foster a dog in order to see if it is the right fit for you, and to adopt the animal in the end.
