The Chicago Cubs kicked off their season on April 7th. This season and also all the other baseball teams have been waiting for this season to start. The start dates for all baseball teams were delayed due to the lockout in the MLB world. With all of this the Chicago Cubs started off with a bang when they beat the Milwaukee Brewers 5 – 4. The Cubs have been changing their team line up a lot recently. Many of the players that are on their roster have been recently added to the team. 

There Opening Day roster rotation included:

Catchers: Willson Contreras, Yan Gomes

Infielders: Nico Hoerner, Nick Madrigal, Alfonso Rivas, Frank Schwindel, Jonathan Villar, Patrick Wisdom. 

Outfielders: Clint Frazier, Ian Happ, Michael Hermosillo, Jason Heyward, Rafael Ortega, Seiya Suzuki.

Pitchers: Jase Chavez, Scott Effross, Mychal Givens, Kyle Hendricks, Chris Martin, Daniel Norris, Ethan Roberts, David Robertson, Michael Rucker, and ect.

Right now the injured list includes: Adbert Alzolay, Codi Heuer, Wade Miller, Alec Miller, Andrelton Simmons and Brad Wieck.

The Cubs are rebuilding their team, and have been adding a lot of new and fresh players to the roster. Many fans were upset last year when they had to say goodbye to Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, Javier Baez, and many more faces that have been faces for this team! But with this new team, Cubs head coach/ manager David Ross and the Rickets Family who have owned the team since 2009 are hoping to make it far. All Cubs are hoping for another 2016 year, and are excited to see what might happen this year and the next couple!
