Orion-Sherrard varsity soccer team won last Saturday’s away, non-conference game against Manual (Peoria, IL) by a score of 4-0. Yesterday on Sherrards home pitch, the boys lost a non-conference game against Illini Bluffs (Glasford, IL) by a score of 3-2. United was up 2-1 at half. A Homecoming victory slipped through their fingers as Illini Bluffs scored two goals in the second half. The sophomores lead the team in goals. Sherrard sophomore, Jordan Maynard and Orion sophomore Tanner Irey, were the only goals Orion-Sherrard produced throughout the whole game. Orion-Sherrard United now has a record of 6-7-1. Their next opponent is Alleman High School on Monday at home. Come support Orion-Sherrard United as they face off against the pioneers.
