The Outside Scoop (Ft. Ariel Nelson)

Jennie Abbott

Ariel was a student of the Alleman school district since she was 6 years old until she recently moved to Orion to begin her junior year and finish out high school. She enjoyed her previous school and her childhood best friends, but is adjusting to the Orion School District well. She was voted as a junior attendant on the Orion Homecoming Court and enjoyed our schools first ever outside homecoming dance.

Ariel’s favorite class is Anatomy with Mrs. Stannke. In the first few months here she has noticed that “people are more motivated, the education is more advanced, and there is more of a drive from the students to do well in school.”

Ariel is a part of the Varsity volleyball team and is excited to play softball in the spring as well. During her free time she likes to “eat, sleep, and repeat.” Her favorite snack is Oreos. At school, her favorite lunch is Chicken Patty as well as the hot turkey and cheese on pretzel bun.

Ariel has a Pitbull, Chico (pictured), that loves to play and go on walks. Moving to a new house, Chico enjoys the new surroundings just as much as the rest of the family. Living in Orion, Ariel says the community is “a lot smaller [than Alleman] and people are tighter knit.”
