When Will We See The COVID Vaccine?

When Will We See The COVID Vaccine?

Eli Kayser, Editor

There has been talk recently about a COVID-19 vaccine. The companies Pfizer and Moderna have developed vaccines in very high quantities for widespread use. The only thing that is keeping the vaccine from rolling out, like it already has in Russia and China, is the concern of side-effects. Even if there are side-effects, doctors such as Dr. Anthony Fauci have stated that the vaccine isn’t something that we should worry about. According to trials that have already been run by Pfizer in conjunction with the FDA, the vaccine is 90% effective. To put that into perspective, the flu shot is only about 50-60% effective. As of right now, it is looking like the FDA could approve the Pfizer vaccine as soon as mid-December. If people end up taking this vaccine, there should be no need to still have severe restrictions, as the vaccine prevents you from getting COVID. You can still pass it on, but this shouldn’t be much of an issue if people are taking the vaccine. Once the vaccine is released, the CDC recommends that you go and receive it, as it should prove to be very effective.
