COVID-19 shutdown part 2

Kallie Roberson, Writer

Illinois is shutting back down after the cases started spiking rapidly. The reporters are saying that the 2nd shut down will be worse than the first. Why? Businesses are still recovering from the first shut down, especially smaller ones. A good group of smaller businesses will go out of business because they won’t be making enough money because they aren’t ¨essential¨. Let’s think about if schools shut down and go completely remote again how hard is that gonna be on the kids? what about them interacting with their friends or somewhere other than their home life that may not be good. sometimes school is their escape and now we are going to take that away? They have already took their sports away, normal lives away, what more can we take from the kids? The second shut down is going to be far worse because it is now going into the winter season, as that being said people have seasonal depression and by being locked in their houses and having nowhere to go to get out and about is going to hurt them and the suicide rates may even go up. Shutting down everything? what good is that gonna do? everybody has different opinions on this pandemic and anything anybody says won’t change that. Shutting down a second time has its perks but also have many downfalls
