Morgan Wallen, the 27 year old country singer, was dropped from performing on “Saturday Night Live,” also known as SNL, this weekend. He was seen in a recent TikTok video socializing at a crowded bar and house party maskless. Wallen broke SNL’s Covid-19 protocols and they announced that he would be dropped from the show as their musical guest.

Wallen posted a more than 2 minute video to his Instagram apologizing. In the beginning of the video he did address that he did not test positive for covid. During the video he said that his actions were “short-sighted” and had affected his long term dreams and goals, and he said “I respect the show’s decision because I know that I put them in jeopardy.” He then went on to apologize to SNL and his team. After his apology he discussed how he has some growing up to do, and that he is going to take a break and work on himself. Towards the end of the video Wallen said “I wish I could have made country music and my fans proud this saturday.” Lastly he mentioned that the producer of the show, Lorne Michaels, gave him a lot of encouragement and told him that they would find time to make up his performance.

Lorne Michaels announced that the show has replaced Morgan Wallen with rockstar Jack White as their musical guest. Michaels said that White, who has appeared several times on SNL over the years, is “always good on the show.”
