The 2020 Nobel Peace Prize recently released the award winner. This award was awarded to the United Nations World  Food Programme. The committee said the award was  given because “The need for international solidarity and multilateral cooperation is more conspicuous than ever”. They were recognised for their extreme efforts to feed families who can’t provide food for themselves. They combat hunger and make sure to keep hunger out of war and protests in the United Nations. They go to extreme poverty places and provide food no matter the climate, society, war, or other big problems that would make this task  more difficult than usual. The World Food Programme was started in 1951 by United States President Dwight Eisenhower. He created this to provide food throughout the United Nations. The organization is still actively helping eighty three countries today. This organization  beat out hundreds of nominees including Donald Trump. Even before the award was announced, thousands of people were betting on the World Food Programme to win the voice.
