Ohio State vs. Illinois

Morgan Schroeder, Editor

Tonight Ohio State will play Illinois in Ohio’s final home game. Ohio State is number 19 being 10-8 in the big 10 and Illinois is number 23 being 12-6 in the big 10.

Ohio State has really been clicking recently with only 1 week until the Big Ten Tournament. Projected starters for the Buckeyes are  C.J. Walker, Duane Washington Jr., Luther Muhammad, Andre Wesson, and Kaleb Wesson. The question still remains as to when D.J. Carton will make his return, as he is on a leave of absence to work on mental health issues. “D.J. remains a valued member of our program and we will continue to love and support him,” coach Chris Holtmann said in a statement. “Please respect the family’s privacy in this matter.” This is a big loss to Ohio. When Carton left he was 3rd on the team for scoring with an average of 10.4 points per game. He was 2nd in assists and 4th for playing time. The buckeyes are handling the change seemingly well as they beat Michigan for the 2nd time this season 77-63 on Sunday.

Illinois’ prospected starters are Da’Monte Williams, Trent Frazier, Ayo Dosunmu, Andres Feliz, Kofi Cockburn. Illinois is 1 of only 2 teams with an above .500 record on the road, which is something the Buckeyes should watch out for. On Sunday Illinois beat Indiana by one point 67-66. With both teams coming off of wins it should be a good game.

The game is on ESPN at 6:00. This should be a really good game as both teams are 20-9.
