Valentine's Day Date Ideas

Riley Filler, writer

As many of you know, or may want to try to forget, Friday is February 14th, which means it’s Valentine’s Day. This day is put into place to celebrate the love that you have in your life, whether that may be a significant other, your friends, or even your family. It’s sometimes hard to think of how to show your appreciation for the people you love the most; so if you need some help planning, continue reading!

The best way to show your deepest love for someone is through just spending quality time with them. Since time is something most of us wish we had more of, it is seen as special when someone decides to use their time by doing something with you. This is why fun date ideas are a great way to show the person you care about some love!

Picnic Date- This date may take some pre-planning, but not much. You could surprise your gf/bf at their house with a fully packed dinner in hand. Don’t forget to bring a cute blanket to sit on! Since it’s February and you and your date probably aren’t in the mood to freeze outside, take your picnic inside. It’ll still be just as cute and memorable as if it were spent outside. After you guys get done with your dinner, you could suggest watching a cute Disney or Rom-com movie. Your date’s favorite kind of ice cream would be another nice touch. This is a perfect date for the people who just enjoy spending time at home in their comfy clothes and hanging out with their favorite person.

Restaurant Date- It can be just as fun to go out and get all dressed up for a dinner at your favorite restaurant with your valentine as it would be to be all cozy at home. You could tell your valentine to dress up, but not tell them where you guys are headed. After picking them up, go to a new restaurant neither of you have been to before. This will give you guys some conversation since you’ll both be able to judge the place. Since you’ll be dressed up, you could take some very cute pictures that will help you cherish that Valentine’s day forever.

Galentine’s Date- Sometimes you just wanna spend Valentine’s Day with your friends and those are sometimes 10x better than any date you could go on. With the new To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before sequel out, you and all your closest gal pals could have a premiere where everyone brings a dish to share and you get to see the love triangle between Lara Jean, Peter, and John Ambrose play out. You could even watch the 1st movie in this soon-to-be trilogy to rejob your brain on what happened and how it leads to what will happen in the second movie.

However, you decide to spend your Valentine’s Day, I hope you get to spend it with someone you love and care about. Show them you care about them by spending some time with them or getting them a meaningful gift. A little goes a long way!
