Chipolte vs. Moes

January 22, 2020
This weekend I tried both Chipotle and Moe’s, I have had Moes before but not Chipotle. They were both pretty okay restaurants but there is a clear winner. I got chips and guacamole and a softshell taco at both places.
At Chipotle, the tacos I got were chicken tacos with lettuce, cheese, sour cream, and brown rice. They were pretty good and next I got the chips and guac. The chips, however, weren’t that good. They had a weird, sour lime taste to it which I didn’t really like, so that was a little disappointing. The guacamole was good, but it’s guacamole, and it’s pretty hard to mess that up.
Next was Moe’s. The tacos I got were pretty much the same except I didn’t get rice on the tacos here. The tacos were really good and then i got the chips and guac again. The chips were really good with the perfect amount of salt, in my opinion. The guac was pretty much the same as the first one so it’s hard to mess up.
Overall I would have to say that Moe’s is a better restaurant. They have better chips, better tacos, and better chip dip choices, including their salsa buffet. Another bonus of Moe’s is that it’s slightly cheaper and has unlimited chips for the customers who eat there, so you can take more chips to go. Next time you are deciding between the two, I recommend going to Moe’s.
Burrito Bowls are far superior than anything else they have, at least in my opinion. Instead of a shell, you get twice the rice, with my personal favorite, and also the more popular one of the two, is the cilantro lime rice. Don’t get it if you think cilantro tastes like soap, obviously. Carnitas, which is pork with seasoning, is my favorite, but the adobo chicken and steak are excellent as well. The queso is amazing, possibly for the simple fact that it has some spices. My go to dish from when I used to work at Moe’s was cilantro lime rice, no beans, steak, carnitas, and bacon, no grilled vegetables (I tried the grilled peppers once, they’re good, but I simply dislike grilling or boiling any vegetables or fruit), and the queso. That was all I got on the “hot” line, on the “cold” line, I would add on shredded cheese, lettuce, fresh jalapeños, cilantro, onions, queso fresco, and the shaker with spices in it. They also have a hot sauce that I applied liberally. This meal is not for those who don’t like spicy foods, though, so if you don’t like spicy foods, then why are you eating at a restaurant that serves Southwestern Style food?
