Attention all juniors and seniors! If you are currently 17 or 18, and will be 18 before November 3rd, you can register to become a vote in Illinois and vote in the upcoming primaries! It’s quick and easy—all you need is your driver’s license, the last four digits of your social security number, and five minutes.

Step 1: Go to https://ova.elections.il.gov/

Step 2: Click “Start the Online Voter Registration Application”

Step 3: Fill out the application. You will need personal info such as your address and your driver’s license issue date and ID number

That’s all! I filled out the application in five minutes, and within two hours, I was officially registered to vote in Illinois. I encourage everybody regardless of political affiliation to take part in the election process. Democracy only works when everybody has a say!

If you don’t have a driver’s license, don’t fret; you can still register to vote, you just need to fill out a manual registration form and mail it to our Henry County election authority.
