Varsity Boys Basketball: Review

This past week, the varsity boys basketball team continued their regular season games. They had two games scheduled for that week. Their first game of the week was on Tuesday, January 7th. The boys traveled to Riverdale and had a good outcome. The Chargers were expecting a competitive game against the Rams. However, the boys varsity team dominated against the Rams and beat them 54-27. Even though the score was so far apart, the game was still intense. There were many fouls called that caused both teams, even the fans, to become aggressive. The boys didn’t let the fouls affect them because they continued to played a very good game.

The second game of the week was unfortunately postponed. The game was scheduled for Friday, January 10th. It was supposed to be at home against Fulton at 7pm. The game was postponed because of the dangerous winter weather that was in the forecast. This game turned into a scrimmage with the Orion boys and girls basketball teams. They had to have something going on because it was scheduled to be Hall of Fame Night. The special occasion still happened.

This week the varsity boys have two more games scheduled. They play on Tuesday, January 14th and on Friday, January 17th. On Tuesday, the boys hit the road to play in Kewanee. On Friday, the Chargers travel to play Morrison. Even though the games will be away next week, the boys always need the fans there to support. Hope to see y’all there!
