Winter Sports Update

Boys Basketball has had a great start to their season. Beating Sherrard on Friday night got them first place at our home tournament last week. Josh Johnson was voted anonymously to the All Tournament Team. Josh was also named the Area Pacesetter for this week. To read his article  click here. Continuing into this week they played Ridgewood on Tuesday and after a very close game they ended up winning. The boys team will play Sherrard again tonight in Orion with Fresh-Soph starting at 6 and Varsity following.

The cheerleaders are very excited for the boys to have their first home game so they can perform their first dance of the season.

Girls Basketball ended up winning 2 games and losing 3 in their tournament that Ridgewood hosted last 2 weeks ago. After taking a break from games during the week of Thanksgiving they resumed play on Monday at Mercer County. Although the game was pretty rough and they didn’t win they will have the chance to pay them another time later in the season. The girls team had a game in Sherrard last night and although they lost they played very well. They will be playing Pearl City in a shootout in Amboy on Saturday.

The Wrestling team has had 2 meets so far this year. They wrestled at Macomb last week November 26th. Their second meet was at home on Tuesday against Riverdale and Davenport North. Their season has been off to a good start. Their next meet is against Rockridge and Newman Central on this coming Tuesday.

Throughout the rest of the Winter Sports seasons I will try to keep everyone updated on how each team is doing.
