Fattening Fascinating Fair Food

This past Labor Day weekend was not only three days off of school but was also the Orion Fall Festival. Many get excited for the rides that are brought into Orion, and some get excited for cute shops along the sidewalk. Most of all, what truly brings everyone to the fair is the fattening, yet delicious, food. During our short break Haley DeLille, Lauren Gunn, and I went to the Orion Fall Fest to take advantage of the festival food. We all personally ordered our own entree to enjoy. I ordered a funnel cake and a lemonade shakeup. Both of these items were so delicious that I ended up getting two lemonade shakeups that day and did not share any of my funnel cake. Overall I am $15 more broke, but it was completely worth it.

Lauren decided to try out the kettle corn this year. TC’s kettle corn tent was at the fair once again this year, so she bought a bag of kettle corn and was not disappointed. To make the kettle corn, the workers put popcorn seeds in a huge, heated up kettle and let the corn pop. While the corn is popping they add a bunch of sugar to sweeten the corn, giving it the caramelized, kettle corn taste. Once the kettle corn is made, they scoop large amounts into bags and then it is ready to sell.
