What would you do if you were stuck in a virtual reality game and if you die then you die in real life? Well, that’s the plot of Sword Art Online. The main characters end up trapped in a death game and the only way out is to beat the game.

It all starts when Sword Art Online was officially released after the beta testing. The main character is Kirito who was not only a beta tester before the official release so he knows a good deal about the games. He automatically had a better chance of survival, but all that did was cause hate towards him. Kirito was also a solo player which is definitely a more dangerous way to play this game. After the creator of the game announced that the only way to log out was to beat the game, it just caused chaos. If you were a beta tester there was automatic hate toward you because of the fact that you had more experience and the assumption of you hiding information that could help beat the game. The game had 100 floors that need to be beaten to log out everyone from the game. So Kirito does everything he could do to beat this game.

Along the way of this death game, Kirito meets people who would become very important in his life, especially a girl named Asuna. Kirito will face many challenges not only alone but with the people who would become his friends. Importantly, he learns that sometimes you cannot always do things alone. The importance of helping others is external especially since everyone’s lives are on the line. Dungeon after dungeon they will have to fight for their survival so that they can get back to the real world losing countless people along the way. Overall this anime is an amazing mix of adventure and science fiction and I would definitely recommend watching it.
