Now that all the fall sports are coming to an end, the winter sports seasons are about to be in full swing. This week on Monday, November 11th, the winter sports start their first official practices of the season. The winter sports are boys basketball, girls basketball, wrestling, and spirit squad.

The varsity girls basketball team starts their season the week of November 18th-23nd. They will be traveling to Ridgewood for the Thanksgiving tournament. They play on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday all at 6pm. If you have nothing planned, go out and support the girls as they start off their season.

The varsity boys basketball team kicks off their season on with a home tournament. They are participating in the 10 & 32 Tip Off Classic here in Orion on the week of November 25th-30th. However, they will not play on Thursday because of Thanksgiving. In fact, we do not have school on November 27th and 29th, so that is the perfect time to come out and support the boys basketball team.

The wrestling team starts their season by hitting the road to Macomb on Tuesday, November 26th at 5:30. In fact, we do not have school that day, so that’s the perfect time to go out and support them. If you can’t make it to that meet, they have their first home meet on Tuesday, December 3rd, at 5:30.

This winter, these sports have several events coming up, so make sure you come out and support these teams as they all have successful seasons!
