The athlete of the week is OHS senior Ben Dunlap. Ben plays football, basketball, and baseball.

Q: What is your favorite thing about football?

A: “My favorite thing about football is that I get to hand around all of my closest friends every day. We have become like a family.”

Q: What made you pick number 76?

A: “I picked 76 because it was my 7th-grade jersey number that was given to me.”

Q: What is the favorite sport you that play? Why?

A: “Football because we are pretty much a family and create memories that I will never forget.”

Q: What is the best part of being the center?

A: “I get to touch the ball every play.”

Q: When did you start playing football?

A: “I started playing football around 1st grade. Ryan and I played in a flag football league in Moline before the flag football in Orion.”

Q: What NFL team is your favorite? Why?

A: “The Bears and because when I was little I always got Bears stuff for Christmas so they just became my favorite team.”

Q: Do you look up to anyone in the NFL?

A: “I don’t really look up to anyone in the NFL. I look up to Kramer and Coach Brown.”

Q: Are you ready for senior night?

A: “Yes, I’m ready for senior night. It would be pretty cool to punch our ticket into the playoffs on our senior night. It is sad that this very well could be the last time I play on charger field.”

Q: What are you going to miss most about football?

A: “I am definitely gonna miss the family atmosphere. I’m always gonna miss playing under the lights.”

Q: Favorite song to listen to when getting ready?

A: “”Fr Fr” by Wiz Khalifa. I don’t know why. It just gets me in the mood to go play a football game.”

Q: Do you wanna play football in college?

A: “I haven’t decided yet. If I do, it will be at a smaller school. I think I will decide a few weeks after the season is over.”
